We are aware that the Deckerville App is not showing up on the Apple App Store. We are working on resolving the issue. It's still available on Android devices.
All offices of Deckerville Community Schools will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, August 20th from 8:30am to 11:30am. This includes the administrative office, the elementary and high school offices, and the athletic office. All employees, including office staff, will be involved in ALICE Active Shooter Response Training during this time, facilitated by the Sanilac County Sheriff Department. This is part of several safety initiatives that will take place throughout the school year. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
It is with much sorrow that I have accepted the resignation of Yvonne O’Connor as Elementary Principal of Deckerville Community Schools, to be finalized at a special Board meeting on Tuesday, August 13th at 7:00pm. Her final day of employment will be Thursday, August 22nd.
Mrs. O’Connor is a dedicated professional educator who has contributed to increased instructional rigor and encouraged the use of best instructional practices among our teaching and paraprofessional staff. During her five years of service to our district, this has led to a tremendous positive influence on the educational outcomes of our students. She will be sorely missed!
Though we regret her departure, we congratulate Mrs. O’Connor in her new position as Elementary Principal of Ubly Community Schools. We wish her well, and are confident of her success in her latest professional endeavors.
In addition to finalizing Mrs. O’Connor’s resignation, we will discuss ideas and options of replacing her position at a special Board meeting next Tuesday, August 13th at 7:00pm.
